Skydance Paramount Set to Cut Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 American roles within a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company planning to announce all specifics via its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports suggested the company was looking to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.

By December 2024, Paramount had nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
