Aircraft Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying near a crowded coastal shoreline unexpectedly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Videos posted online depict the chopper starting to spin above the beach then falling near the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Local firefighters said five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three people on the street were harmed. Specifics on their injuries were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.

Authorities indicated the helicopter was connected to an annual “Cars with Copters” benefit occasion planned for Sunday.
